U11 Netball v Mowden Hall

Wednesday 22nd January 2020
St. Mary’s -5: Mowden Hall-20

Captain: Celia

This was a bruising encounter but one we will learn from! The Mowden girls were particularly tall, which in the 2 Ds, can make quite a difference; added to their height, was skill-for them, a perfect combination.

The game began at tremendous pace, Mowden scoring from their first centre pass and certainly showing they meant business. That said, we did not give up and end of the ¼ saw the visitors only 6-2 up (it is possible to come back from this!) Sadly, the next ¼ score was exactly the same and at 12-4 they were pulling significantly ahead. The last half of the match saw Mowden score another 8 goals to our 1 which gave them a well-deserved victory.

We were particularly impressed by the movement of Mowden’s GS and will work to replicate her movement during games sessions. We were asked to nominate their Most Valuable Player and we unanimously chose the GS! Mowden selected Olivia, at Centre, as St. Mary’s MVP today.
Well tried girls, this was really tough but you stuck at it and did not give up.
