1st XIII Football v Riley House

Score : St. Mary’s 1 – Riley House 4
Scorers : Ollie dG.

The boys were riding high after a promising start to the football season and were excited to get going with outdoor matches. We welcomed Riley House to St. Mary’s on a cold crisp January afternoon.

The game started quickly with both teams keen to move the ball around and stretch the opponents. After a strong start we scored a good goal after the Riley keeper saved a shot and we smashed in the rebound. The game settled as both teams got used to the big pitch and the strong winds. Riley moved the ball well and scored a deserved equalizer. As the boys tired and they pushed for a second we were caught on the break and went behind. We played some great football but struggled to make that final pass. The boys conducted themselves extremely well and can take a lot of positives from the match. Next job.

Man of the match – Ollie L., who was outstanding in goal and produced countless superb saves keeping us in the game.
