We won the toss and prepared ourselves in fielding to watch Belhaven score 3½ rounders with some excellent batting although tight fielding stopped many scoring at 2nd post and stumping out 4 players.  We were keen to move to bat and I was very impressed with the consistent and accurate batting by most players.  We had a run of ½ rounders and when we moved into our final 10 balls the girls began to take risks and 4 were stumped out.  However, after the first inning, we were in high spirits as we lead by four rounders with the scores at 3½ v 7½.

The rain started to fall and the ground became slippy, Belhaven continued to bat carefully although  took some chances early on which resulted in losing some players at 2nd post.  Our final chance at batting started well with many hits, although we were slow to start scoring.  Eventually, we started to bat further and wider on the pitch which allowed some players to score at 2nd post or even 4th!  The rain made the ground difficult to run and I could see the girls running wide round the posts and slowing their pace.  However, they came away with another victory.

Great work today girls, you did well to cope with many nettles at back stop and a wet and slippery pitch.
