IAPS - Belhaven

Sunday 3rd March 2019

The glorious February weather continued in to early March and John Muir Park was bathed in sunshine for this year’s races-perfect running conditions.

We entered 35 runners from 8-13 years and they were joined by another 328 children from 13 different schools. The standard of running was, as always, incredibly high and much as we try to prepare them for it, this can come as a bit of a shock to our youngest pupils-it certainly is a taste of life in the ‘real world’.  Every single St. Mary’s pupil ran with grit and determination, each focussed on doing their very best for their team-Mr Inwood and I could not be more proud, and Mr Harvey reiterated his own feelings, to all gathered at Monday’s assembly.

Special congratulations go to Anna and Libby B, who were 2nd in the u11 and u13 girls’ competitions respectively, and to Emma S-W who was just behind Libby, in 3rd place.

Strong and clever tactical running from all athletes in the U11 and U13 girls’ teams saw them both deservedly lift this year’s team trophies. A fantastic effort and well done to: Anna B, Freyja, Olivia, Tiggy ,Skye, Libby B, Emma S-W, Daisy, Eliza, Rosie and Lara.
