Wednesday 27th February 2019 St. Mary’s 11 - Loretto 1 St. Mary’s 8 - Cargilfield 8 Captain – Willa A wonderfully sunny day for netball at St. Mary’s. With the fixture being a triangular we played 2x ten minute halves for each match; our first game was against Loretto which St Mary’s dominated from the start, our ball handling was on point, in particular moving into space to receive a moving ball. At half time it was 7 – 0 to St. Mary’s so we made 5 positional changes to try and even up the game. We certainly had to work harder and the girls had to think more carefully about where the pass was going, but we managed another 4 goals to Loretto’s 1. The girls knew the next match against Cargilfield meant their marking would need to be a lot tighter; Sadly I didn’t see this game as was umpiring the 3rds, however at half time we were 7 -1 down. With a strong motivational chat they came back to draw the match 8 – 8. This was a fantastic come back girls, well done. Mrs A Wright
