Tuesday 26th February
The Boarders Dinner Dance is a huge highlight of the school calendar and tonight, the boarders and staff agreed that it was the best one yet. All the regular boarders were invited and the Boarding Staff were there to enjoy an amazing evening starting with drinks and canapés and a fabulous three course dinner chosen by the Form 8’s. Cheffy and his team went all out with Parma ham and melon balls to start, chicken in puff pastry vol-au-vents and homemade brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate after eight, yum yum! The dining room was set up with colourful touches, honeycomb balloons hung from the ceiling and the tables were decorated with fairy lights and tulips. Boarders were piped along the Verandah to the Morrison Hall by Josh Cully and John Tweedie ready for the reels to begin... Everyone joined hands to dance the traditional reels and to disco music in between. We were also treated to a surprise performance of Shotgun by the Form 8’s as they took to the stage. It was a wonderful evening and everyone had lots of fun. The Boarding Team were very proud of how every boarder enjoyed each opportunity that night and took the time to show their thanks and appreciation.
Wednesday 27th February
Wednesday night saw the boarders enjoy a relaxing movie in the Friends Common Room in the Girls House as well as some papier mache in the Art Room and games out on the All Weather Court.
Thursday 28th February
On Thursday evening we had Warhammer painting and Lego in the Art Room as well as Let's Dance on the whiteboard in the Science Lab. This was in addition to some games out on the All Weather and dodgeball in the Pre Prep Gym. It has been one of those weeks when you feel very proud and lucky to be involved in boarding at St. Mary’s!
