U9 Fettes Rugby Festival

Wednesday 31st October

A squad of 10 Under 9 boys travelled to Edinburgh on Wednesday past and took
park in the annual Fettes festival, their section included Merchiston, Clifton Hall and Compass. In what was a cold but dry afternoon all teams played good running rugby with lots of points scored. Our first game was against Merchiston in what was a close game St Marys  won by 1 point Merchiston 3 St Marys 4.  Next up Clifton Hall, a good team performance resulted in a score line of St Marys 5 Clifton Hall 2. In the last of our section games we came up against a good side in Compass who tackled well in all of their games this game resulted in our only defeat of the afternoon final score Compass 2 St Marys 1. This meant that Compass went on to play in the final and ST Marys went into the 3/4 play-off game in which was a very exciting end to end game final result St Marys 4 St Leonards 3.

All round good performance from all of the players progressing well. Well done to Compass who went on to win the festival and all the other teams who took part.  Thanks to Mr Mill from Fettes for coordinating the festival, to the game coaches, St Marys parents who made the trip.
