Under 10 Rounders v Loretto

Wednesday 6th June
St. Mary’s 13  Loretto 4½
Captain – Iona
We are becoming very friendly with our Loretto hosts as this is the third time we have played against each other this season.  Having two wins under our belts but with many training sessions in between, we were unsure how things would go today.
After winning the toss, we were delighted to get to field first with some super skills and clever tactics on the display.  We stumped and caught out all the Loretto batters by ball 24, leaving them with a score of one rounder.  As we moved into batting positions, we were able to show our confident batting skills and therefore scored a fabulous 6½ after 30 good balls.

The second inning was harder as Loretto perfected their accurate batting and fielding.  This time the hosts scored a good 3½ after some messy fielding by us as well as some long distance hits.  We notched up a further 6½ to make the final score 13 v 4½.
On this very sunny afternoon, I was delighted to reflect on the progress we have made and once again, very pleased with the result.  All fourteen girls had a chance to field and bat which gave everyone a chance to play together as we head towards the end of the season.  A very well deserved win today thanks to our focus, skills and effort along with the fabulous support from our supporters to came along to Loretto today – thank you!
Team today –

A big mention must also go to the following girls for their fabulous catching and stumping skills today – Tiggy, Iona, Sophie and a very happy and surprised, Kate! Well done to everyone!
