Form 6 Write to the Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP

As part of Form 6's persuasive writing topic, Form 6 wrote letters to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP.

These letters also form part of the school's commitment with Surfers Against Sewage to become a Plastic Free School. The children were asked to think of a number of initiatives to help to prevent plastic pollution. Taxes, rewards schemes, effective labelling of fishing equipment, better education (!) and fines for individual and corporate polluters were all suggested.

The pupils also made excellent use of powerful rhetorical questions; "Do you think that my generation should have to clean up this mess?", "Do you think that this is acceptable?" etc

All the letters will be sent to Mr Gove. We await his response.

Well done to all involved!
