Borders Forest Trust visits the Middle School

On Thursday afternoon, Mrs Anna Craigen from the Borders Forest Trust talked to Forms 3, 4 and 5. She explained how the Trust plans to revive the wild heart of the Borders in the hills around the Devil's Beeftub and the Gameshope and Talla Reservoir.

Over the last 20 years the Trust have planted over 1,000,000 trees at their Carrifran Wildwood, Gamehope and Talla Reservoir and Corehead & Devil's Beeftub sites. In fact, we are currently growing c1,000 native hardwoods in our own tree nursery on behalf of the Borders Forest Trust.

The asked some wonderfully insightful questions before presenting Mrs Craigen with 12 birdboxes that they had built and painted. These will be erected at some of the Trust's community woodland sites.

Well done to all involved!
