U9B's Football v Fettes

Wednesday 31st Jan

It was a chilly, snowy afternoon on the back pitches for the U9Bs, but it did not stop any of the boys from playing an excellent game of football. Aside from some super tackles, rushes at goal and brilliant defending, there was great sportsmanship, team play and high spirits.

The St Mary’s team had the advantage of 2 extra players that swapped on fairly regularly, which gave us fresh legs on the pitch every few minutes, but Fettes fought valiantly in difficult conditions, keeping us working hard to the last whistle.

The final score was 6-2 to St Mary's, but the overriding success was the lovely atmosphere created by the teams and their courteous behaviour on and off the pitch. Our thanks go to Mr Mill for bringing his team down from Edinburgh and to the parents who braved the weather to support us.
