St. Mary's Wins Top Outdoor Learning and Wildlife Conservation Award

St. Mary's School has been awarded the Woodland Trust's Green Tree Schools gold award for outdoor learning and wildlife conservation.

Gold Award

The children, from kindergarten to Form 8, have taken part in a wide range of green activities including tree planting, visiting local woodlands, building birdboxes, bughouses, litter picks, reducing carbon emissions and recycling.
The Green Tree Schools initiative, which has seen over 7,000 schools sign up since it was launched in 2008, offers the opportunity to bring the great outdoors, wildlife conservation and green issues into the classroom.
We are extremely proud of all that we have achieved and look forward to pushing on with Outdoor Learning and Wildlife Conservation initiatives across the school - watch this space!

Well done to all involved!
