We are very proud of the fact that at St. Mary's the three key elements of academics, sport and culture complement each other; many of our pupils achieve in all three areas.
Music is taught both as a class subject and in individual instrumental lessons. All pupils are given the opportunity to sing, compose various styles of music, play a variety of instruments from around the world and learn about the musical heritage of Scotland and beyond.
At Christmas, the Chapel Choir sing in our annual festival of lessons and carols at our local church.
Children may also opt for instrumental lessons in strings, brass, woodwind or percussion instruments as well as singing, bagpipes (chanter), piano, organ and guitar.
Performing opportunities are an essential component in any thriving music department and these are offered at St. Mary's throughout the school year in both formal and informal settings.
